Huma is the CEO and Founder of MAP Services Group.
Initially conceived and developed in Geneva in 2002, MAP was launched as a boutique trade and investment advisory for governments and multinationals. By 2009, Huma’s vision had enabled MAP to diversify into the export of food commodities, primarily rice. Arif, a former CTO at Acer Group, is an industry-recognized expert who developed the industry's first IBM compatible PC in 1983, which got Multitech (now Acer Inc.) and MiTAC International started in the PC business and gave birth to Taiwan's ODM industry. He developed the first MS DOS Pocket Computer. He led Acer's engineering team in Silicon Valley to architect and develop the industry's first award winning Pentium class notebook computer (AcerNote Nuovo, TravelMate Series) which broke through 10+ hour battery life for a full day’s work with a single battery, followed by the first fingerprint sensor secure PC.
During his career at Acer, he made alliances with technology partners to bring many exciting products to market, such as collaborating with Microsoft to create the first Convertible Tablet PC., with Qualcomm to create the first Snapdragon-based Android Smartphone, with NVidia to create the first T3 based 10” Android OS based Tablet, and with Google to create the first Chrome OS based Chromebook.
As a technology executive with a creative vision, Arif brought engineering ‘know-how’ and created innovative organizations and solutions. He has received many corporate awards and industry recognitions, including over 25 US patents.
Arif has over 40 years of advanced systems architecture design and product development and manufacturing expertise. Ahmed Uzair is a UK qualified lawyer. He is a partner at AUC | LAW and his areas of interest include investment law, technology related challenges and cross-border transactions. Over the years he has worked with Incubators, startups, VCs and angel investors. He has also worked with Securities Regulator of Pakistan (SECP) regarding startup focused changes to companies law and regulations. He assisted the SECP in Equity Crowdfunding Regulations. He routinely write and has published papers and articles in The Nation, Pakistan and the Counsel Magazine, Karachi and Pakistan Law Digest. At Cardiff Law School he chaired the first Welsh Model United Nations Conference on eradication of the AIDS endemic from third world countries. He also the co-author of a book titled Alternative Dispute Resolution Review, published by Law Business Research, London. He is a fellow at the Continuing Legal Education Initiative of Pakistan, which aims to raise the overall standard of the legal profession. He regularly lectures on technology law.
Danyaal Khaliq has 5+ years experience across strategy, investment banking and operational roles. He was previously at Lightsource BP (BP’s solar investment arm) as an Associate in the Strategy & Investments team reporting directly to the CEO. Prior to that he was at Jefferies investment bank in London, reporting to the Head of EMEA & APAC Investment Banking with a focus on strategic, transactional, and operational optimization. Danyaal began his career at Access Corporate Finance in a dual role focused on M&A transaction execution and on driving the company’s regulatory compliance procedures. Merai Syed is technology expert actively working with more than 40 startups every year incubated at the National Incubation Center, Islamabad. Suffiyan Malik has experience working in incubation, acceleration & university outreach program management. As Head of the Hult Prize Pakistan Campus Program he led the growth of the university outreach program and capacity development workshops for budding entrepreneurs & ambassadors. Mr. Zaman is an advocate of High Court who practices in Civil and Criminal Litigation matters.
